Total Coverage’s ethical and environmental statement was introduced to set out exactly what ethical and environmental standards will govern our aims and objectives, how we operate our business, and who we will and will not offer our services to.

We aim to be a sustainable business, operating in a socially responsible and environmentally friendly way. Because the success of our business depends on us designing and printing more and more each year, we recognise that we could increase our carbon footprint instead of reducing it. We will approach our business with a responsible attitude to ensure that this does not happen and help our clients to do the same.

We buy products that are recycled or from sustainable sources as often as possible. By doing so, we believe we have a much lower impact on the natural environment and developing world.

We also recycle as much as possible – including paper, envelopes, cardboard, carrier bags, glass, plastics, cans, toner cartridges and computer hardware. As part of our waste reduction strategy we now email design briefs, estimates, schedules, artwork and proofs instead of printing and posting them.

We aim to decrease the amount of energy we use and have pledged to further reduce our carbon emissions by at least 10% by committing to the 10:10 initiative. 10:10 is an ambitious project to unite every sector of British society behind one simple idea: that by working together we can achieve a 10% cut in the UK’s carbon emissions in 2010. To help us achieve this our website is hosted by a service that is carbon neutral.

We aim to work with clients that bring about a positive change in communities and the wider world. This includes ethically and socially responsible businesses, charities, local authorities, educational establishments, co-operative and not-for-profit organisations. There are certain organisations that we will not work with under any circumstances. These include those with questionable human rights or environmental records. By not working with unethical organisations we have separated ourselves from many of our competitors; putting our ethical values before making a profit.
